Fancy Nancy Party

Kylei turns 6 in less than two weeks and she wants a Fancy Nancy themed party. (If you're not familiar with Fancy Nancy books and you have a girly daughter, you MUST go to the library and check these out!)

Everything must be FANCY! Well...that's the problem. I need fancy stuff, lol.

I thought about going to Goodwill and seeing if I could find linens or pretty cake plates/trays/tiered dessert trays, etc. I also need fancy clothes for me too, cuz we have to dress up fancy of course! :)

I don't know if any of you have anything (even if I didn't mention it) that I might could borrow that you think would work or if you'd want to lend it, BUT if you do and would, please let me know. I'd appreciate it!!

Any ideas are welcome as well...creativity is so not my thing.

Thanks!!

  1. I should add that the girls are set. They have fancy dress up clothes. I'm the needy one.

  2. If you go to Walmart in the craft section you can buy long ropes of fake pearls for just a few bucks. Glue the ends together and have long pearl necklaces like a flapper. They'd also be cute as table decorations. Also, you might look and see if they have any lace looking scraps that you can use as doilies or a bigger piece of a tablecloth. I don't have anything useful, so I can't help you there, but Goodwill is a great idea. The one in Lawrenceburg always has a great selection of stuff and you might be able to find a bunch of mismatched teacups that would be cute, too. And now I hate you because now I want a little girl who wants a Fancy Nancy party!

  3. Thanks Taren. I went to Columbia's Goodwill last night, but it was a bust. I like the idea of the pearl necklaces though- thanks! I had a few fakies that I thought about using, but it would be better if the girls got to wear and keep them! :)

I hate that I don't have the funds to really go all out and be over the top fancy, but I still think a 6 year old might approve anyway.
